Today, millions of women around the world are having difficulty trying to conceive. This is a staggering number, especially considering there is a very high chance that either you or someone you know has infertility problems. Women over 40 with no fertility problems may take up to 18-20 menstrual cycles to get pregnant. With fertility problems, this waiting game could turn into years. And when time is not on your side, this prolonged period of trying to conceive can become very frustrating and stressful. Unfortunately, this is a vicious cycle as stress can then hamper fertility. Fortunately, by having the right information and treatment, so-called infertile women can conceive quickly and easily.Facial acupuncture
What is Acupuncture?
Acupuncture is a practice in which very fine needles are inserted into specific points of the body and then manipulated. Acupuncture has been used for thousands of years, dating back to at least the 2nd century B.C. in China. Acupuncture is based on a belief that Qi (life energy) flows through the body. The acupuncture points, which have been confirmed by electromagnetic research, are located on ‘Meridiens’ where the Qi flows. If a blockage occurs in one of the meridians, the Qi cannot flow properly, and illness results. Acupuncture corrects the Qi flow in the body and restores balance to the body. Acupuncture integrates different systems of the body and promotes self-healing. Acupuncture looks at a person as a whole and treats the cause of the problem, not just the symptoms.
How Does Acupuncture Improve Fertility?
Acupuncture reduces the release of hormones related to stress and increases the amount of beta-endorphins flowing through the body. Some possible effect of acupuncture on fertility include improved hormonal balance, strengthened immune system, improved blood flow to the uterus, thicker endometrial lining and reduced stress levels.
